Amendments in subsidiary legislation of WSHA

  • The Workplace Safety and Health Council has approved 56 Codes of Practice set out in the Schedule of the Workplace Safety and Health (Approved Codes of Practice) Notification 2013 dated 9th December 2013. The Workplace Safety and Health (Approved Codes of Practice) Notification 2012 was revoked.

 7 newly approved codes of practices are added. They are:

SS 506-1, SS 506-2, SS 506-3, SS 508-2, SS 508-4, CP 88-2 and CP 99.

 2 approved codes of practices are revised as follows:

SS 580 (formerly CP 23) and CP on Working Safely at Heights 2013.


  • The Workplace Safety and Health (Incident Reporting) Regulations are amended as follows:


Bodily injury sustained by a person as a result of his act or default while driving any vehicle on a public road in the course of his work is no longer exclude as “accident” under the Regulations.

Accidents where employees are granted more than 3 days of sick leave, whether consecutive or otherwise, shall be reported to the Commissioner.
